Winners page
The public page announcing a hackathon's winners.
/w/[slug]WhoPublicFind itResults › Public pageThe winners page is a public page that announces your hackathon's results: the podium, the award winners and the full final ranking. Anyone with the link can read it once you publish results, without signing in. Winner emails link to it, and you can share it anywhere.
When it's visible#
The page is private until you publish.
| State | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Not published | Only you, signed in as the hackathon's owner. A banner at the top reads "Preview — only you can see this page until you publish results." Everyone else gets a not-found page. |
| Published | Anyone with the link. |
You publish and unpublish from Results › Winners, and you can only publish once the last phase has closed. Unpublishing makes the page private again. Reset judging also unpublishes it.
To open the page, use Results › Public page in the hackathon's navigation, or the Public page button on the Winners page once results are published. Both open it in a new tab.
What it shows#
The page uses your hackathon's color, logo and banner from Branding.
- Header: the logo, the hackathon's name and a Share button.
- Banner: "Winners", the hackathon's name, and the number of projects and judges with the event dates.
- Podium: the top three projects, first place in the middle. Each shows its name, pitch, prizes, and Repo and Demo links when it has them. First place also shows the team size and, if the project has a video, a button to watch it.
- Category winners: each award with at least one winner, with the award's image, name, winners and description.
- All N finalists: the full final ranking, with each project's place, name, pitch, prizes and team size.
Before any winners exist, the page shows Winners are on their way with a note that the judges are still deciding. You'll see this in the preview while judging runs, unless you've already picked some award winners.
Where the details come from#
The page picks project details from your schema:
| On the page | Taken from |
|---|---|
| Name | The first Text field |
| Pitch | The next Text or Long text field |
| Team size | The first Team field, shown as "solo" or "team of 3" |
| Repo link | The first Repo field |
| Demo link | The first URL field |
| Video button | The first Video field |
Only web links (http or https) are shown.
What stays private#
The page shows only what's needed to announce the winners:
- Only projects in the final ranking or with an award appear. The project and judge counts in the banner cover the whole hackathon.
- Disqualified projects never appear.
- Judges' scores and notes aren't shown.
- Prizes appear by name. Codes and links inside a prize go only to the winner, in their winner email.
Share the page#
Share copies the page's link and briefly shows Link copied. On devices where copying isn't available, it opens the device's share sheet instead.
The page reads the ranking and awards each time it loads, so changes you make on the Winners page after publishing show up there. To link to one project, add its anchor to the link: #project-12 for project #012 scrolls to its place on the page. Once results are published, a winning project's page in the app links here too.
